Prepregnancy Detox: safeguard your baby from being born PRE POLLUTED

Planning a conception? As most of us over the past decade or two carry around a significant toxic load, we should be thinking about a detox first. One EWG, Environmental Working Group, study revealed that toxic contamination begins in the womb. The research found a total of 232 toxic chemicals in umbilical cord blood, many of which are toxic to the brain and nervous system and can contribute to many of the health conditions affecting our children - many behavioral and cognitive disorders.

The goal of preconception detox is to decrease toxic load. The upside to this is that fertility increases. Environmental toxic exposures affect our fertility and genetics. Having babies can be likened to a massive detox event as many of the maternal toxins pass to the offspring. The firstborn usually suffers the brunt of the dumping. Several studies have that at the time of birth, babies already have nearly 300 different environmental chemicals detectable in their blood.

‘Washout’ studies, which look at the rate of elimination of toxins when someone switches from conventional to organic food, reveal that there is significant dumping within just a few days.

  • Importantly, women shouldn’t embark on a detox weeks before pregnancy, especially when pregnant or breastfeeding.

  • Go organic and use the most clean and green products when it comes to cosmetics, personal care products, and household cleaners.

  • Rid your lives of plastics! They contain endocrine-disrupting hormones which can affect your hormones and babies, causing congenital abnormalities.

  • Support your body’s natural detoxification system. The liver is key as it breaks down and eliminates toxins. Skin, kidneys, bowel, and lungs also need your support to work well.

  • Losing weight causes detoxification. Adipose reserves shore up many toxins as your body strives to distance them from vital organs. Incorporate weight loss into the preconception detox to avoid the toxic transfer.

  • Choose a clean and green diet to assist your body in detox - green smoothies, fermented foods, quality proteins, fats, and oils

A daily poop is necessary to clear the toxins... if it is not happening, seek help from your nutritionist/naturopath.

  • Check/reduce your EMF’s- electromagnetic frequency load.

  • Stress levels affect every stage of reproduction! It is so often influenced by the workplace and personal relationships

  • The Making Babies Preconception Program addresses dietary, environmental toxic load, heavy metals, pathogens/yeasts issues to ensure your fertility and baby’s health are optimum.
